How I realized the importance of water?

Just when I was meandering in and out of my house, my mom called out to me and told me there was something wrong with the water pumping motor. I reached out to her as soon as I heard her voice. The thought of an empty tank was constantly bugging her. She added that without water it would not be possible for her and us to do the daily chores. I ran towards my room, which took me a while, to call my electrician. The person who I can rely on with my eyes shut. At times, he is lackadaisical and doesn't respond well. As usual, he told me that he was busy and would not be able to come. I told him that it was urgent and there's nothing we could do without his help. That's when I realized how important an electrician is. I sound like a square peg in a round hole in such situations. Jokes apart, I insisted him to visit us the following day and the call ended on an assuring note from his side. Meanwhile, we had the whole day ahead of us and thoughts of water running dry. I will expl

Why do some people end up doing nothing?

From the beginning, they have a tendency to not settle for less. They prefer sitting idle to working somewhere. In the pursuit of not settling for less, they end up settling for nothing. Sometimes they succeed too if they don't emotionally break down in the process. They consider it futile to work 9 to 5 for someone who pays a meager salary in return. Let's say that you have to get to the top of a multi-story building and the lift is not working. Going by stairs is the only option left. The lift may or may not get repaired within a stipulated period. What would you do? Well if I were put in the same situation, I would wait for the lift to be functional and it's something that most of us would do. What if a person on the 15th floor is waiting for you and is expecting you in the next fifteen minutes? Will you still wait for the lift or take the stairs? Some of us would still wait for the lift to be functional but a wise person would take the stairs knowing that if he disappoints the person on the 15th floor, he will miss out on the opportunity of meeting him. He may not get to talk to him again. This was just to exemplify how some people miss out on opportunities given the circumstances. They stay dug in their heels and wait for a convenient moment. Staying dug in your heels is not a bad thing if you are certain to get results. If you know it's either take it or leave it kind of situation, why miss it?

When we are in our juvenescence, some of us don't have any goals in mind or don't know what to do with our lives, and by the time we turn into adults, we regret pointing to the thought that we spent a significant portion of our lives wondering what should be done. We know, at the moment, that we may have missed the boat and there's nothing we can do to get to the boat again. Therefore, time spent leisurely will not come back. Start from an early age, probably 4 or 5. Stay put to your goal and start working for it and results will appear. These are the experiences that we get when we grow up and we tell others about them so that they don't commit the same mistakes we did. Don't wait for the opportunities to knock on your door, create opportunities for yourself. When you know how to turn a bad situation into a good one, things will start working out for you. You will do the right things and will meet the right people.

One of the other reasons why we end up doing nothing or settling for nothing is because we tend to play ignorant most of the time. We procrastinate things or delay things and that lands us in the woods. We do all the other things that are not necessary except the one that's on our plate. That is what playing ignorant means. Always focus on the thing that's bothering you or is not letting you sleep. And never doubt yourself. You might not be knowing it but some problems arise when we doubt our capacity or ourselves. If you think you can be successful, you will be and if you think you can't, you will not. So how we think about ourselves matters a lot because that thinking of ours will turn into reality one day.

So never think less of yourself. Always look up to you. Improvise and keep improvising.
