How I realized the importance of water?

Just when I was meandering in and out of my house, my mom called out to me and told me there was something wrong with the water pumping motor. I reached out to her as soon as I heard her voice. The thought of an empty tank was constantly bugging her. She added that without water it would not be possible for her and us to do the daily chores. I ran towards my room, which took me a while, to call my electrician. The person who I can rely on with my eyes shut. At times, he is lackadaisical and doesn't respond well. As usual, he told me that he was busy and would not be able to come. I told him that it was urgent and there's nothing we could do without his help. That's when I realized how important an electrician is. I sound like a square peg in a round hole in such situations. Jokes apart, I insisted him to visit us the following day and the call ended on an assuring note from his side. Meanwhile, we had the whole day ahead of us and thoughts of water running dry. I will expl

Success - A Diverse Phenomenon

The whole idea of this blog is to motivate people to the best extent possible. Success is one such word that brings a smile to almost everyone's face. Two days back, I asked a couple of my friends to give me their viewpoints on the word Success. Here are some of the finest viewpoints that I have gathered.

Harsh Singh(a good friend and a musicophile)

Success has many different meanings... It varies from person to person... For me, Success does not mean being on the list of the world's Richest or most Famous Personalities... For me, Success is something that I can really admire... Makes my soul happy... Gives me a feeling of contentment... Working for a cause... Doing something that interests me... Motivates me... Makes me want to leave the bed early in the morning...  Just to enlighten you about my goals... I want to become a musician plus a composer... But it doesn't mean that I want to be a famous singer like Arjit or Rahman... Want to create music that is soothing to the ears... Need a couple of people to applaud for my endeavors... That's it...  It will make me happy and my parents proud... It doesn't matter if some of my songs result in a complete flop... I will take it as an opportunity to improve... Knowing that I worked hard and gave myself all in... Success is all about recovering from your recent failures... Giving your life a new meaning... Pulling yourself together after hitting the rock bottom... Realizing that it's just the beginning of a new era... and at the same time... being hopeful that one day... one day... you will make history... smash a record... and that day you will be successful...

Rishabh Khajuria(a childhood friend and a civil engineer)

According to me, Success is not a thing... it's a continuous process... that goes on and on... Learning new things every day... Making a difference... Solving problems at the grassroots level... For some people, it is securing good grades... or clearing an exam... or getting a good job... whereas in my case... it's not the case... For me if you are doing better than yesterday... taking small steps... towards your goal... beating your own records... you are succeeding...

Manish Garg(a junior, a good friend, and a Bachelor of Business Administration)

If you ask me... success is financial freedom... freedom of speech... freedom to reside in any part of the world... to buy anything you want... to do anything you want... even solving a complex problem is success for me... being happy... less stressful... enjoying your life to the fullest... even if I don't make it through a particular stage in life... but the effort that I put in to reach that stage... is success for me... in simple words, for anyone to be successful... pertinacity is cardinal...  keeping yourself positive and active throughout... from inside as well as outside... despite hardships... to never let your failures influence your actions... is success for me

Rishabh Mishra(a former colleague, a good friend, and a Senior Design Engineer in VLSI Sector)

A bottle of impure water has no value in the beginning but when it's made pure and immaculate its value increases... Success can be defined similarly... when you don't have a job... you are considered useless... unsuccessful... dependent... no one listens to you... and when you have one... you have a value... you are called successful... independent... everybody listens to you... even the hardships that come along while walking the path of success become so paramount that it sets examples for others... moreover... one should not waste one's time thinking about what's good or what's bad for one... just capitalize on every opportunity... every single chance that you get... after all... a Lotus blooms only in the mud... and one last thing... time... time along with other factors... plays an important role in shaping one's future... it is like a wild horse... you can't make the most of it by just clinging to its tail... hold it's head and it will take you to your destination... if you waste your time doing nothing... success will remain a dream for you... as time lost will never come back... but if you utilize it properly... you will do wonders... and will qualify to become a source of inspiration for others

Rupam Chalise(a former colleague, a good friend, and a Marine Engineer Officer at Anglo-Eastern Ship Management Ltd.)

In simple terms, success for me is to be skilled enough to be able to bring my ideas to fruition... to remain committed to my goals... to be able to walk-the-talk... to reach a stage where I am no longer desirous of anything more... fully satiated with my hunger... resulting in complete happiness... Ironically, there can never be a stage when a human will be satiated to this extent... But that is the real essence of life... if we stop dreaming for more... there won't be a purpose for us to continue living... There has to be a certain balance... balance between our needs and our insatiable hunger... In the pursuit for more we neglect the very notion of keeping ourselves happy with whatever we possess or have achieved... rather give preference to things we don't have or can't afford... and... we should never compare ourselves to others... after all, you can't become Mukesh Ambani overnight... but should also not neglect the fact that at least we tried... because those who did something and brought about even a small change are already above the average human
